The 'Bean' vase from HSG Ząbkowice dates from the 1970s and represents Polish pressed glass in the spirit of mid-century modern. The tall form, with an organic, bean-shaped cross-section, is made from thick, saturated rose-coloured glass in an intensely warm red. The whole narrows towards the top, ending with a slightly irregular rim—without unnecessary decorations or textures. The smooth, highly glossy surface highlights the depth of colour and allows light to dance freely across the surface, revealing both the transparency at the base and the weight of the massive form. The transparent, stable base bears subtle traces of hand-forming characteristic of the era's production. The original manufacturer's sticker is partially preserved at the neck. Very good condition: no chips or cracks, only minimal, typical technological marks at the base. The form of this vase evokes the calm energy of the 1970s, when Polish glassworks experimented with both colour and the organic simplicity of shape. The vase, in the language of the era, relies on the direct gesture of the material: noble glass, free from ornamentation, allows the colour and soft line to speak for themselves. This is an object that does not seek attention—it rather invites focus and the reception of light in its simplest, sensual form. The red shade pulses calmly, suggesting dignity and sincerity, as if to remind us that design can be both restrained and full of tension. The vase can be paired with minimalist ceramic forms or vintage details with a matte texture, which will bring out the shine and depth of the red glass. It works well as a soloist on a light wood console, under daylight or spot lighting, or surrounded by graphite accents highlighting its modernist roots. Interiors in the mid-century spirit—simple sofas, low tables, plants with gentle leaf lines—will allow the vase to stand out as a subtle dominant and a reminder of the value of handmade, local craftsmanship.
