Blue enamelled porcelain vide-poche from Limoges with a Japonese fish design.

Rare, superb porcelain vide-poche from Limoges with white enamel on deep blue, crafted in the mid-20th century, around 1940-1960. Stylised decoration of a catfish accompanied by a starfish and seaweed, treated in white reserve on a cobalt background in a very graphic Japonese style. The quality of the drawing and technique could be attributed to Marcel Chaufriasse, with the originality that it is an uncommon subject for the artist. Freeform and slightly hollow. Not signed. Very good overall condition, no cracks or chips, but numerous light usage scratches on the base, more or less discreet depending on the lighting.
