Bodum water kettle designed by danish designer carsten jorgensen in 1986. This piece has an outstanding stainless steel body, the lid is finished with a copper coloured and blue ball top. The mahogany wooden handle is a perfect complement to the overall design. The top part of the body and around the spout are decorated with a rivet-like decor, giving it a steampunk appearance. The wooden handle is removable. With original box. Carsten jörgensen studied graphic design and painting in kopenhagen, denmark, starting in the early 1970s as an industrial designer for danish manufacturer bodum. For over 25 years jörgensen had been working as a creative director for bodum, influencing the whole production line on a creative level. His works has won numerous awards in germany, switzerland, usa, england, france, italy, sweden and denmark, being exhibited in museums such as the victoria & albert museum in london or the musée des arts decoratifs in paris. Since 1983 he has been living in lucerne, switzerland, running his own design agency. On the bottom side is engraved 'design c. Jorgensen made in italy inox 18/10 bodum'. Excellent vintage condition, hardly used. No scratches. It measures in height 17.5cm (with lid), and has a diameter of 16.8cm (top), resp. 19cm (bottom). It weighs little less than 1 kilogram. The capacity is 2l.
