Large White Crackled Ceramic Urn Lamp with Drapery and Greek Frieze.

This imposing lamp takes the form of a neoclassical urn made of white glazed ceramic with a beautiful crackled finish. The ovoid body is adorned with draped festoons modelled in relief, beneath a Greek frieze running at the shoulder between two stylised side handles. The urn rests on a moulded pedestal and a square base. It is topped with a large black conical lampshade that contrasts with the whiteness of the ceramic. This monumental interpretation of the ancient vase — drapery, Greek frieze, crackled finish — is part of the broader neoclassical movement of the 1970s, when decorators revived Greco-Roman forms in light and sculptural materials. Condition report: Very good condition. Ceramic without any damage, original crackled glaze is uniform, lampshade in good condition. A spectacular lamp, perfect for an entrance console or a living room chest of drawers.
