Helmut Dittmann (1931–2000), "Flächenaddition / Interieur", collage on paper, dated 29.08.1989, signed and titled in the artist's hand lower centre. Dittmann was a Berlin-Charlottenburg artist who studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Berlin and was appointed master student under Prof. Hans Uhlmann in 1956. He received two scholarships from the Akademie der Künste Berlin (1968 and 1970) for residencies at the Villa Serpentara in Olévano Romano, Italy. His work spans painting, graphic art, collage and ceramic sculpture, and was shown in numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad, including the Freie Berliner Kunstausstellung. This vibrant collage is a striking example of Dittmann's mature abstract work: hand-cut painted paper shapes in a rich palette of red, blue, yellow, teal and white are layered into a rhythmic, dynamic composition, full of movement and colour energy. Technique: collage on paper, with gouache/painted paper elements. Dimensions: 71 X 51 cm (work), framed. Dated and titled: lower centre, 29.08.1989. Condition: very good condition; ready to hang. This work is offered from the estate of Helmut Dittmann. Professional sale with a 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers. In case of withdrawal, the buyer bears the direct costs of return shipping and must ensure safe, secure packing and transport.
