Large vintage sideboard from the 1950s–1960s, in moiré veneer (flame mahogany colour) with beautiful honey brown reflections. This piece of furniture stands out for the richness of its highly decorative veneer and its elegant lines typical of mid-century European modernist design. It features understated black and brass handles. The front legs are slender and finished with lovely decorative brass pieces. The composition is both aesthetic and functional: – two large side storage spaces with shelves. – an off-centre display cabinet to break the symmetry, with a glass shelf, ideal for showcasing crockery or decorative objects. – a drawer beneath the glass shelf to optimise storage. Numerous small defects slightly mar its overall good condition considering its age (see details in the photo). Signs of wear and scratches are visible inside and outside the furniture (mainly on the sides), as well as small chips in the varnish. However, with its beautiful length of 210 cm, its sound structure, fully operational hinges and drawer, as well as well-preserved veneer, this sideboard is a choice piece for a living room, dining room, or even as a TV unit in a contemporary or vintage interior.
