Malicorne perforated ceramic egg box – vintage sweet jar

This charming box is made of woven earthenware, certainly a creation from Malicorne in Bourg-Joly, Sarthe, and dates from the 20th century. This egg-shaped box is in two parts. Using a weaving technique, this ceramic is perforated and adorned with a delicate yellow colour. It can serve as a sweet box for chocolates or biscuits accompanying tea time. It is signed "F T M" within a triangle and is numbered "329 - 1/0 2976". In overall good condition, this box measures 10 cm X 14 cm. It shows discreet signs of use.
