This large carafe is made of bubble-blown glass. It is a mouth-blown glass jug using an artisanal technique (we see, at the base, the trace of the break of the cane for blowing the glass). The cap includes an air bubble and is also mouth blown. Biot bubbled glass has existed since 1956, the glassmakers then succeeded in creating bubbled glass: by controlling the bubble by adding baking soda, to trap it between two layers of glass, thus turning a defect into a quality.between tradition and creation, each biot glassware is unique, because it is mouth-blown by master glassmakers. This carafe has a hot-applied handle and carries a glass cabochon marked "jr". In very good condition, this carafe measures 34 cm in height and 14 cm in diameter. It is not signed biot underneath. A pretty pitcher to keep a refreshing cocktail cool or as decoration, turn it into a pretty sparkling vase for some flowers.
