Ancient zoomorphic ceramic jug in cobalt blue glaze, depicting a rooster with particularly decorative modeling. The piece stands out for its careful craftsmanship: generously sculpted body, relief-molded plumage, prominent radiating comb, large handle integrated at the back, and original small lid. It rests on a remarkable flared foot with fluting, treated like a pleated skirt, giving it a particularly elegant and unusual silhouette. The whole is covered with a beautiful deep and shiny cobalt blue glaze, revealing the slight irregularities characteristic of ancient molded ceramics. Based on its decorative vocabulary, modeling, and finishes, this jug can be cautiously dated between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. No manufacturer's mark is present, so its exact origin remains to be determined. The model is atypical and uncommon. Note: The spout was previously broken and reattached, as visible in the photographs. The piece remains very decorative as is; a more extensive professional restoration can be considered if desired. Height: 22 cm. Diameter of the foot: 10 cm.
