A fine 18th Century French walnut dining table

A fine 18th Century French walnut serving table. This table has a real depth of colour with a particularly wonderful colour top. Grand country Italian provincial style farmhouse trestle dining table crafted from solid oak. The imposing table is made on a massive scale featuring a nearly 5cm thick top. The top is supported by a trestle base with monumental baluster form legs ending with wide shoe feet. Incredibly solid and heavy with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Ample leg room. The oak timbers have a rich dark finish that showcases the fine woodgrain patterns. The legs are conjoined by a long floor stretcher. Very impressive scale and presence. In very great original antique condition, despite of some scratches/marks, natural wood cracks, consistent with age and use.
