Christofle ice bucket in silver-plated metal, Biarritz model

Here is a legendary ice bucket, still available in Christofle's "vintage" collection. It bears the iconic "Gallia" and "Christofle" marks. It is distinguished by four rows of grooves on the upper part and the same number on the lower part. This is the "Biarritz" model (1950s), produced in the post-war years, a period when France, and seaside resorts in particular, rediscovered a taste for celebration, often symbolized by a return to the consumption of Champagne, or at least refreshing drinks. Champagne, beverages, and ice were thus widely associated with the return of festivities, and this small bucket with its silver handle and interior is a testament to that. The silver-plated metal is in good condition with only a few signs of wear, which are to be expected given its age.
