Vintage Fossil Marble Ashtray – Square Stone Ashtray – 1970s

Substantial vintage stone ashtray. Carved from highly decorative fossil-rich marble with beautiful natural brown. Taupe and grey tones. The stone is filled with visible fossil and shell-like inclusions. Making every surface unique. The strong square form with softly rounded corners and circular recessed bowl is typical of 1970s European modernist design. Three cigarette rests are carved directly into the stone. Dimensions: approx. 12 × 12 cm. Height: approx. 4.5 cm. Material: polished fossil marble / fossiliferous stone. Period: circa 1970s. Condition: Good vintage condition with natural variations and light signs of age and use. A great brutalist / mid-century decorative object. Equally attractive as an ashtray. Catchall or sculptural desk accessory. REF 26333.
