This rare and large handwoven tapestry, titled 'Tuppamattan' ('Rooster Carpet'), was designed by Marianne Richter (1916-2010) for AB Märta Måås-Fjetterström's ateliers in Båstad, Sweden. Each piece is unique, with variations in color and size. This particular tapestry features a depiction of four roosters (or peacocks) in turquoise, emerald green, and aquamarine shades, contrasted with pink details, reminiscent of a Marc Chagall painting. Crafted with a wool weft and linen warp, it has been hung on the wall and never used on the floor, resulting in near-excellent condition. Designer initials 'MR' and producer initials 'ABMMF' are present. Dimensions: 176 X 160 cm. The tapestry is represented in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and featured in the 2009 Liljevalchs Art Gallery exhibition catalogue. Marianne Richter was educated at the Technical School in Stockholm and worked under Barbro Nilsson at Märta Måås-Fjetterström's ateliers.
