Old wooden and zinc crate, with handles. 1900, heating system

Atelier K offers you this superb wooden and zinc crate. Look what I've unearthed for you! This is the first time I've seen this style of crate. The interior is divided into two parts, each with its own lid. Each lid is perforated. According to my research, this was a heating system. Embers or burning coals were placed inside the zinc crates, and the lids protected the whole thing. The handle on top of the wooden chest was only used to move it. It dates from the 1900s. Apparently, it was used to heat the interior of carriages. A rare piece. Dimensions: 23.5 D X 43.5 W X 25.5 H. Weight: 6.2 kg. Ref. 288.
