Ceramic lamp foot with a stylized polychrome floral decoration on a cracked white background mounted as a lamp. Stamp of the factory on the bottom Boch la Louvière, signed Ch. Catteau D. 946. Charles Catteau (1880 - 1966), after training as a ceramic engineer at the national factory in Sèvres, edi ed. edied 20th largest at the la Louvière, Boch-Kéramis factory. Hired by Boch who sought to renew his production, he ran the decoration workshop there from 1907 to 1946. Charles Catteau has benefited from technological advances in the reproduction and standardization of objects. Considered for this reason more as a designer than as an artist, he is one of the greatest ceramic designers of Art Deco.
