Fully handmade, wool-made afghan carpet (baloutches tribe) brought back from russia in the late 1980s. The dull and deep colours, graphic and figurative motifs, evoke a modern urban landscape, with a bridge, night lights and cars sometimes reminiscent of the design of the first video games. The white, red, pink, deep blue and orange details form a complex and balanced ensemble, framed by a border of small flowers. Geometric shapes take over the original illustrations of trees and architectural fragments and give a dynamic and captivating rhythm to this contemporary afghan carpet from the 80s.
