Pair of reed wall sconces in golden metal from the 60s.
Very beautiful pair of vintage wall sconces in gilded metal, dating from the 1960s. Each sconce is made up of several stylized reed stems, with elongated and irregular shapes, crafted from worked gilded metal. The stems fan out and end in curved tips, giving the whole piece an airy and graphic silhouette that seems almost in motion. The metal features a deliberately irregular and textured surface treatment, which beautifully captures light and enhances their artisanal character. A particularly decorative pair, evoking the naturalistic and organic design of the 60s, straddling the line between wall sculpture and lighting fixture. They will be very elegant in a vintage, mid-century, bohemian chic, or brutalist-accented interior. The sconces require small screw base bulbs (E14). Electricity tested. Beautiful nuanced golden patina, showing signs of wear consistent with the age of the sconces (although my photos are taken without artificial light, digital colors may slightly differ from the actual color).
