Modernist dining room round table dlg Warren Platner, Italy 1970

Superb round dining table from around 1970. Completely in the spirit of American modernism, reminiscent of the designs by Warren Platner for Knoll International, it is likely of Italian manufacture. The very beautiful top, measuring 120 cm in diameter and 4.5 cm thick (height 76 cm), is made of satin black melamine (leather in Platner's designs) set in a golden oak frame with rounded edges and a groove in the centre. The whole rests on a very elegant cross base made of chrome-plated steel (with a 7 cm diameter column) featuring metal pads on hinges for perfect stability. Of very high quality and in excellent condition, there are just a few micro-scratches from use as well as 3 micro-chips on the edge of the top (see photos) which do not affect the overall aesthetics of the table. Ideal for a large kitchen, it comfortably accommodates 4 to 5 guests. The chic Italian style of the 70s. Not to be missed!!!
