This superb solid brass ashtray combines geometric elegance with artisanal quality. Octagonal in shape, it alternates four notches for cigarettes (or cigars) and four prominent reliefs, achieving a perfect balance of lines and volumes. Resting on a slightly elevated circular base, it captures light with a golden intensity that highlights the beauty of the polished metal. The stamp "India P.51," embossed under the base, attests to Indo-European craftsmanship from the 1950s-1960s, typical of those Indian workshops that worked for major Western export houses. The artisanal know-how of brass meets the formal influences of the late Art Deco period, in a sober and refined synthesis. A very beautiful character piece, both decorative and functional, ideal for a desk, a coffee table, or in a smoking room for enthusiasts of period objects. In very good condition, with a homogeneous and warm patina. Weight: 0.756 kg.
