Painting - very beautiful copyist work (second half of the last century) made in oil on canvas mounted after Van Gogh's studies of olive groves. For any additional information or to send photos for enlargement, do not hesitate to contact me directly: sylvere.carlier@neuf.fr Context of the original work: Vincent Van Gogh stayed for a year at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausolé monastery in Saint Rémy de Provence, where he was treated for his attacks of dementia and despair since May 1889. He was fascinated by the beauty of the landscapes of Saint-Rémy, by the quality of light, and by the serenity of the place and the surroundings, which inspired him during his 53 weeks of hospitalization, a major part of his work, with 143 oil paintings, and more than 100 drawings.
