Antique French Copper Jardinière / Champagne Cooler with Art Nouveau Mask Handles, Circa 1900. Exceptional antique French copper jardinière dating from the Art Nouveau period, circa 1890–1910, complete with its original Paris maker’s plaque. Crafted in heavy gauge copper with a zinc lining, this elegant vasque features beautifully cast female mask handles inspired by the romantic naturalism and symbolism of the era. Originally intended as a planter or champagne cooler for refined interiors, the piece has a generous sculptural form with a rolled rim and wonderful decorative presence. The copper exterior has developed a rich aged patina with warm chestnut and amber tones, while the zinc interior shows soft verdigris consistent with age and use. The handles remain secure, the maker’s plaque intact, and the piece is structurally sound and watertight. A versatile and atmospheric object ideal as a champagne cooler, planter, or centrepiece.
