Kolbrún S. Kjarval (born 1945) studied art in Denmark and Great Britain. She works primarily in ceramics, creating works of art that are both creative and functional. In her work, Kolbrún draws inspiration from Iceland's unique nature and contrasting landscapes, and in particular from the life of living birds. She has been making her famous "birds" for over thirty years. This piece is very rare. .
