"Alanda" sofa by Paolo Piva for B&B Italia, 1980s

Italian work, 1990s. H 70 X W 220 X D 90 cm. Cognac leather and lacquered steel. Very good condition. Four black lacquered steel legs cross under a low unit; seat and back cushions in cognac leather, with backrests that tilt independently to transition from a sofa to a bench. Paolo Piva, an architect trained in Venice, has been designing for B&B Italia since the 1970s. The Alanda is part of this collaboration, at a time when the publisher is seeking low seating with an exposed structure. Very good condition. The sofa retains its original black lacquered steel base and cognac leather.
