Magnificent work by the ceramist Gréber This incised signature "C. Gréber" corresponds to the French ceramist Charles Gréber (1853–1935). Son of the potter Johan Peter Gréber, Charles Gréber profoundly influenced and developed the family workshop located in Beauvais, in the Oise region. Active during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, he is particularly renowned for his collection pieces in glazed stoneware, characterised by their organic shapes and stunning decorations with drips and flame-like reflections. The model features two well-proportioned handles and a very beautiful mastery of the typical flamed and flowing glazes of Beauvais, placing it in the higher range of estimates for this size.
