Mountain landscape. - Oil on panel by jean paul clarke. 38 X 46 cm 31 X 20.5 cm (excluding frame) Jean paul clarke (1913 - 2004) was born in paris. He studied at the ecole des arts décoratifs in paris and the school of fine arts in the workshops of andré devambez and charles guérin) between 1937 and 1939. Prisoner in germany during the second world war, during his detention, he drew many portraits of his fellow prisoners in ink and pen with highlights of white gouache. Thereafter he focuses on the landscapes of seine et marne but also those of ouessant during his travels in brittany.
