Vintage Sculptural Turned Wood Vase – Dark Hardwood – 20 cm

Beautiful vintage hand-turned wooden vase with a striking classical urn shape and sculptural pedestal base. Made from a dense and remarkably heavy hardwood, displaying beautiful natural figuring in deep chocolate brown, almost black and warm reddish-brown tones. The contrasting grain makes every side of the vase slightly different. The elegant silhouette combines a rounded body with a flared neck, raised foot and finely turned decorative rings, giving the piece a distinctive Mid-Century Modern / 1970s character. The underside is unmarked, so the maker and exact wood species remain unknown. The weight, density and colouring suggest a dense hardwood, possibly of tropical origin.
