Pair of Raphael Raffel Armchairs

RAPHAËL (Raphaël Raffel, known as) (1912-2000) & ATELIER RAPHAËL (Publisher) Pair of modernist low armchairs made in 1974 for the French National Assembly. The frame is composed of wide, brushed steel blades. The legs form riveted geometric arches, joined to a central stretcher, and extend to form trapezoidal armrests. The tubular metal seat structure is upholstered in brown leather. The seat and back cushions, as well as the armrest covers, are covered in saddle-stitched brown leather and attached to the frame with straps. Height: 80 cm - Width: 80 cm - Depth: 72 cm.
