19th-century solid walnut farmhouse table, benches, extensions, Ardèche.

Large antique table in solid walnut from the 19th century, acquired from a family in southern Ardèche, in the commune of Sampzon, who indicated that it was used in their family silk farm for silk work. Successively used in a grocery/restaurant for 7 years. Top made of wide walnut planks with a beautiful period patina. Massive and robust structure with thick legs, crosspieces, and traditional joinery with tenons and mortises. Two matching benches in solid walnut included — a rare set in this coherence. Two original functional extensions, created after the date of construction of the table and benches. Dimensions: 274 cm closed / 397 cm with both extensions. Authentic patina, normal signs of use. Traces of previous woodworm activity. A space resembling a crack is present between the two planks making up the table top. The piece is sound, unrestored. Maintained and polished during the 7 years in our possession.
