Rattan and brass centrepiece, Italy, 1970s

Handwoven rattan centrepiece with a structured circular geometry. Handmade in Italy during the 1970s, the piece features concentric threads of coiled rattan, reinforced by transverse fastenings along the outer wall. The upper perimeter is finished with a solid brass ring moulded with a detailed pattern that imitates bamboo knots, creating a material contrast between the natural organic fibres and the polished metal. The interior exposes the continuous spiral configuration of the weave, providing an ideal texture for surfaces or coffee tables.
