John Gould's toucans, published between 1852 and 1854 in his Monograph of the Ramphastidae, are among the finest natural history illustrations of the 19th century. Combining scientific precision and artistic brilliance, these brightly colored lithographs give the birds a striking presence. True masterpieces of Victorian animal art, these prints remain highly prized for framing and decoration. This edition, reproducing the original illustrations, was printed in 2011 on fine art paper. A majestic toucan with elegant dark plumage, a pale yellow throat, and an impressive large beak with subtle iridescence.
