Glass platter, Danish design, 1970s, manufactured in Denmark

This sculptural artistic platter made of ice glass was produced in the 1970s in Denmark. A spectacular platter made of thick, irregularly shaped glass with a structure resembling crystalline ice or a sheet of frozen water. The transparent glass with a slight greenish tint beautifully catches and diffuses light, creating subtle reflections. The distinctive, organic form and handcrafted finish are inspired by the styles of Iittala, Kosta Boda and Riihimäen Lasi – classics of Scandinavian art glass from the 1960s and 1970s.
