Mid-century vintage/industrial bedside table attributed to French designer Jacques Hitier. Manufactured by Tubauto in the 1950s-1960s, it dates from the Reconstruction period after World War II and was typically used in boarding schools or military barracks. This bedside table features a classic, timeless, simple, and elegant modern industrial design. It rests on a black tubular frame with its original legs. The upper part of the metal frame is shaped to allow the piece to be moved. The upper and lower shelves are made of golden oak veneer. The drawer is fully functional with its original brass-colored handle. The interior shows some slight signs of wear (see photos). This piece is in very good overall original and vintage condition, with slight marks and signs of use on the metal frame, the top, and the wooden shelf (see photos), as well as a patina due to age. Solid and stable. Dimensions: Drawer: W: 29.5 cm X D: 21.5 cm X H: 6.5 cm Wooden top: W: 35 cm X D: 25 cm Bottom shelf: W: 35 cm X D: 20.5 cm Space between top shelf and bottom shelf: 32 cm All photos were taken in natural light.
