Painting signed vera braun-lengyel (1902-1997) mixed technique on paper double signature: one "upright" at the bottom right, the other "upside down" at the top left dimensions of the work, frame including: 42.2x34.7 cm original frame, label on the back providing information on the provenance of the painting vera braun-lengyel (1902-1997) born in budapest, véra braun arrived in paris in 1928. It was through cubism by georges braque then “tachisme” that she discovered painting. She joined the workshop of andré lhote and later that of fernand léger. Driven by a spirit of research, his style evolves from “naive” figuration to more abstract compositions. His first solo exhibition took place in 1935 at the storren gallery in london. In 1959 véra braun received the international painting prize. The belfond gallery inaugurated its first parisian exhibition in 1960, repeated by camille renault in 1973 and 1976. The museum of modern art of the city of paris purchased a painting by véra braun following the success of her previous exhibition.
