Suspension lamp in lacquered wood, copper and opaline by Yves Faucheur (1924-1985)

Chandelier by yves faucheur, free-form based in white lacquered wood and grooved polished copper network, with nine arms of light of various heights supporting globes of different sizes in white opaline glass. A sculptural form, full of elegance and modernity. Unique piece made for claude piéplu. In very good condition. Yves faucheur (pont-à-mousson, 1924 - paris, 1985) was a french painter, decorator and costume designer active in the second half of the twentieth century. Passionate about painting and drawing, he attended the école des beaux-arts, then the académie julian and those of andré lhôte. Later, he met fernand léger who took him as a student and entrusted him with some paid work. Yves faucheur met the theatre thanks to charles dullin for whom he sketched his first set: "une parade" by thomas gueulette. Then he became a stage manager at the noctambules and decorated "l'équarrissage pour tous" by boris vian. He moved to la huchette, then to the théâtre la bruyère with georges vitaly. In the 1960s, michel de ré called on him for the festival de vaison la romaine. Incidentally, he meets jacques fabbri who asks him for a set for "the ghost" by claude santelli and becomes the official decorator of the fabbri company for many years. Having made nearly 200 sets, he decided to devote himself solely to his painting in 1970. He nevertheless made in 1975 "i want to see mioussov" for his friend jacques fabbri, at the théâtre des variétés, "tom jones" in 1978 at the paris opera, "la magouille" in 1979 at the théâtre marigny, "la fille de madame angot" at the grand théâtre de nancy in 1980. Nevertheless, painting remains paramount, and he exhibits every two years at the galerie entremonde. Faucheur organized a major retrospective of his works in vandoeuvre in 1982.
