Pitcher sandstone vase signed Fontgombault

Beautiful pitcher in enamelled sandstone slightly pyrity signed fontgombault under the base. This is the abbey of fontgombault in the creuse valley, where the monks made (and perhaps still make) utilitarian pottery in enamelled sandstone. This model, probably dating from the 60s or 70s, has a very nice conical shape, flared at the bottom for perfect stability and pretty colors ranging from chocolate to beige. It is a beautiful decorative piece that can also serve as a vase with fresh or dried flowers. Its narrowed neck does not allow easy cleaning, so it is difficult to use as a food container. It is in very good condition: neither shine nor crack, perhaps an abrasion of a few cm² unless it is original. It measures 23 cm in height, 11.5 cm in diameter at the base, and 8 cm in diameter at the opening. It weighs 1.1 kg.
