The ait bou sbaa rug, from the ouled bou sbaa tribe, "bousbaa" which means "lion" in arabic, is a nomadic tribe living in morocco and mauritania, as well as in western sahara. They trade from senegal to marrakech. The most recently arrived tribe in the region, claims a chorfa origin. Their traditional history was important in the landscape of mauritanian tribes and their amazing, unique carpets have gained more wealth and power in recent years. Please note: consider that you will receive a handmade product and not an industrial work manufactured by a machine. There may be slight imperfections in shape or pattern, as this is a vintage item, but all of our carpets are restored and washed by professionals before being shipped.
