Series of 4 straw chairs, French manufacture, 40s

Meeting between brutalist aestheticism and function for this charming series of chairs designed in the 30s and 40s! The brutalist line of the wood is associated with a weaving of straw at the absolutely superb seats. The comfort and robustness of these vintage seats are ensured by their ingenious design and the quality of the materials. This set of 4 chairs is thrilling! Seat height 46cm. The structure of the chairs is made of solid wood varnished caramel. The seat is mulched and offers a subtle contrast with the chair's uprights. The chairs are in very good condition nevertheless to note a slight slit on a backrest and some insect holes on another, visible in the photos. The seat is original, some straw strands have been discreetly reglued but no major lack is to be noted. The whole is in good condition.
