1970s Czech Space Age Double Wall Light with Amber Bubble Glass Globes

Space Age Double Wall Lamp with Amber Bubble Glass Globes, Kamenický Šenov, Czechoslovakia, 1970s An impressive vintage double wall lamp originating from Kamenický Šenov, Czechoslovakia, during the 1970s. This sculptural Space Age lighting fixture features two large spherical amber glass shades mounted symmetrically on a rectangular brass-plated metal base. The textured glass globes incorporate numerous small air bubbles, creating a distinctive decorative surface that beautifully refracts and disperses light. When illuminated, the amber glass produces a warm golden glow, projecting intricate reflections and atmospheric patterns onto surrounding surfaces. The minimalist geometric construction, combining spherical glass forms with a clean rectangular metal base, reflects the experimental and futuristic design language of the Space Age movement. The brass-plated and lacquered metal elements provide a sophisticated contrast to the textured glass, emphasizing the lamp’s architectural character. Its elongated horizontal composition makes it particularly suitable for installation above a sideboard, in an entrance hall, living room, bedroom, or as a decorative statement wall light. A distinctive example of 1970s Czechoslovak decorative lighting, combining sculptural design with atmospheric illumination.
