This delightful trinket tray is made of vallauris ceramic. It is a work by the artists and husband and wife laurent jacques and juliette mazaudois, signed ljj on a yellow pastille. Their workshop belonged to the renowned vallauris group, they moved there in the 1950s. They were contemporaries of picasso and worked to revive ceramics in the 1960s and 1970s. This pocket tray is made of red earth glazed with a milky white slip with irregular bubbles and roughness. Made up of two round cups, they are joined by a shaped twist grip. A modernist work on the material and its cover, free forms. This set is signed "ljj" on a yellow sticker. Dimensions: 27 cm X 20 cm high. In good general condition, I note discreet traces of use.
