5 Sarreguemines plates model Cambo – Basque decoration – vintage 1950s

Set of 5 antique faience plates from Sarreguemines, Cambo model, consisting of 3 deep plates and 2 flat plates. The decor is particularly graphic: on a cream background, wide deep green bands intersect like the lines of a fabric, punctuated by fine green and burgundy lines. A pattern that irresistibly recalls the stripes and grids of traditional Basque linens. Stamp: Sarreguemines – France – CAMBO. In good vintage condition, with several chips and nicks on the edges, signs of use, a few small marks, and a network of crazing in the glaze in places. Despite these flaws, the five pieces remain very decorative and the pattern retains very beautiful colours (see photos). Diameter of deep plate 23.5 cm, height 3 cm, diameter of flat plate 23.5 cm. A green and red grid that brings the spirit of Basque houses to the table.
