Discover this hand-engraved gilt brass vase, made in India. 46cm high. Its estimated date is between 1890 and 1920. This type of vase is part of the continuity of Indian craft traditions, particularly those of the Moradabad region, renowned for its brasswork. The floral motifs and detailed engravings reflect the influence of Indo-Persian and Mughal styles, which permeated Indian decorative art for several centuries. It was often used as a decorative object or offered as a prestigious gift. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, India was under British rule, known as the British Raj (1858–1947). Although this period did not correspond to a traditional Indian dynasty, local crafts continued to flourish, preserving techniques and styles inherited from previous dynasties, such as the Mughals.
