A faience bowl with a scalloped rim, decorated in the center with a blue bird perched on an open cage, accompanied by the handwritten inscription "Liberté" (Liberty). A stylized floral frieze adorns the rim, framed by manganese lines and decorated with yellow foliage. This symbolic iconography, directly linked to the ideals of the French Revolution, is typical of the politically engaged production of Nevers in the 1790s.
