Targetti Sankey Murano glass chandelier, 1970s

This Italian mid-century chandelier by Targetti Sankey, gives a fountain of beautiful warm light. It was manufactured some time in the 1970s by Targetti. The chandelier size is 102 cm in height and 67 cm in diameter. The chandelier features nine hand-blown Murano glass shades, each distinguished by visible air bubbles trapped within the glass. The softly diffused glass creates a pleasant, atmospheric glow when illuminated. All shades are mounted on a chromed metal frame, which extends into a chromed ceiling rod and matching canopy, lending the piece a sleek, architectural presence typical of Italian lighting design of the period. The glass is made with a very interested technique, that not only traps the air bubbles, but also makes the colour semi- transparent with white or whitening parts. It is very artistic and effects the final lighting effect. The shades have original stickers: "Vetro artistic, lavoratoa a mano" - hand blown artistic glass, confirming its Murano province. Additional information: It requires 9 E27 bulbs. The shade size is 19 cm in height and 16 cm in diameter. The chandelier is in great vintage condition, with light, age-appropriate signs of use.
