Handcrafted stoneware salad bowl. France, late 19th – early 20th century. A stoneware salad bowl with a ample and generous shape, typical of utilitarian pieces intended for the kitchen and peasant table. The interior is covered with a honey to golden glaze, shiny and finely speckled, characteristic of salt glazes or those based on natural oxides. The exterior features a deep brown gradient glaze, revealing the texture of the stoneware in places, reflecting artisanal firing and a primarily functional design. Variations in hue and visible turning marks. This piece is part of the tradition of regional salad bowls and terrines, used for the preparation, serving, and preservation of food. Diameter: 26 cm. Height: 15 cm. Some signs of use and micro-irregularities from firing, with no cracks or structural chips, consistent with the age and use of the piece.
