Silver metal salad cutlery pompadour model including a spoon and fork. Brand "alfénide" Stripes of use. Lengths: 24 cm and 25 cm. Alfénide is an alloy developed in 1850 by the halphen brothers, french chemists and goldsmiths. The alfénide factory was bought in 1880 by christofle. A trademark of goldsmithing was registered in 1908, with the stamp of guarantee of the silvering alfénide. This hallmark has a goat's head in a diamond inscribed in a square, similar to the losangic one of the widow charles halphen, goldsmith indicted on march 17, 1877. Compared to silver metal it has the advantage of being massive and not corroding, of great hardness and greater longevity.
