Pair of solid wood and bamboo chairs, brutalist style, 90 cm

A matching pair of handcrafted chairs with a strong presence, made from solid wood with seats and backs of fine bamboo slats. Their deliberately visible construction, thick uprights, round crossbars, and stocky proportions give them a look that is both rustic, sculptural, and highly decorative. These are solid and imposing chairs, embodying a brutalist, colonial, and wabi-sabi spirit, typical of artisanal work from the second half of the 20th century. The two models share the same formal language while presenting different heights: 50 cm in width and 45 cm in depth each, with heights of 86 cm and 98 cm. The wood has retained a warm and vibrant patina, with shades and signs of wear consistent with their age. The bamboo slats also show authentic wear, more visible on one of the seats, which adds to their charm. Metal reinforcements have been installed under the seats to strengthen the structure without altering the overall aesthetic. A pair of character, ideal for a brutalist, Mediterranean, contemporary country house interior, or in a decor that combines antique furniture and natural materials.
