Oriental carpet Ardabil, Iran – wool – 200 X 300 cm. Elegant Persian carpet originating from the Ardabil region, renowned for its refined productions and ancestral craftsmanship. This piece features meticulous knotting and high-quality wool, offering both flexibility and excellent durability over time. The composition revolves around a large central diamond-shaped medallion, adorned with stylised geometric decoration, set within a densely ornamented field of repetitive motifs known as _herati_, typical of this tradition. The deep tones – midnight blue, brick red, and ivory – lend the whole a great elegance and a beautiful decorative presence. The richly designed main border frames the entire piece with balance and highlights the central field through a subtle play of chromatic contrasts.
