Rectangular solid wood farmhouse stool

Charming little stool whose originality lies in the rectangular shape of its seat. Perfect also as a bedside or piece of sofa. It is an artisanal work, certainly for the personal use of the one who made it, with very dense, heavy and hard wood (oak perhaps). The feet, non-symmetrical, with a square section, were inserted into the seat, and then reinforced, perhaps over time, with three wedges nailed under the seat. It is covered with a dark varnish, more or less present. I cleaned it carefully, lightly sanded the wood to remove unsightly stains, then passed a little walnut husk and a very light layer of antique wax to unify everything. It is in good condition, still solid, slightly wobbly when empty. It also presents the patina of its age and use: traces and various marks of origin (the knot on the wood of the seat in particular) or not. It is very heavy for its size: almost 2.6 kg. It measures 34 cm in height, the seat measures 26 cm by 22 cm for a thickness of 3 cm. The vase in the last photo is also on sale in my shop.
