Silky Kayseri carpet (Asia Minor, Turkey). Mid-20th century. Mercerized cotton velvet on cotton foundation. Prayer rug on orange and red field with so-called mihrab decoration, hanging oil lamp, double stylized columns. Very silky velvet, so-called mercerized silk. Dimensions on orange background: 172x121 cm. Condition on orange background: wear in the orange background as well as on the lower part of the carpet.
