A magnificent and quite rare piece in this format. The "Parrot" coat rack in bent wood, an icon of industrial design from the early 20th century, but in its "junior" version. Although the majority of parrots were reserved for adults, major manufacturers such as THONET, KOHN, or the French BAUMANN produced smaller versions. Montessori education before its time, in the 1920s/30s, saw the emergence of theories on child autonomy, leading manufacturers to create suitable furniture. The upper part has six hooks, making it an exceptional model as usually, children's parrots only have four. The wide base ensures stability, a crucial point for models intended for children. It seems there is still some glue residue on the post where the paper label belonging to the brand was located. It is in its original condition...
