A magnificent and quite rare piece in this format. The "Parrot" coat rack in bent wood, an icon of industrial design from the early 20th century, but in its "junior" version. Although the majority of parrot coat racks were reserved for adults, major manufacturers like THONET, KOHN, and the French BAUMANN produced smaller versions. This was a precursor to Montessori education in the 1920s and 30s, coinciding with the emergence of theories on child autonomy, leading manufacturers to create furniture suited for children. The upper part has six hooks, making it an exceptional model, as usually, children's parrot coat racks only have four. The wide base ensures stability, a crucial point for models intended for children. There seems to be a residue of glue on the post where the paper label belonging to the brand should have been. It is in its original condition... I haven't removed the glue... Only one leg shows signs of wear... The rest is in good condition. Carefully packaged and protected for shipping.
